The Annual General Meeting of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County was held on September 21. 2021

Once again, we elected to meet safely and virtually for our annual gathering.

Despite the challenges of 2021, the MCC remained active and continued our many services to the community.

We were excited to keep the 46 year tradition of Carrousel alive with the second edition of Carrousel@Home. The hybrid festival featured 24 ethnocultural villages with 16 providing festival food take out service. The first-ever Carrousel Youth Ambassador Program was launched, a mural was created and a television production titled ‘Carrousel 46: Rhythms of the World’, was broadcast on YourTV Windsor.

The Multicultural Council developed critical community partnerships with our local hospitals, municipal leaders and the Windsor Essex County Health Unit, taking a leadership role in ensuring equitable access to timely and accurate COVID-19 vaccination information.

We take great pride in the creation of the ‘A World of Reasons’ campaign; the vaccination clinics we sponsored; the training for settlement agencies we led and the youth vaccination campaign we launched.  Thanks to the MCC timely, relevant, and appropriate information was available to all.

The evening was an opportunity to celebrate all those who supported the MCC in 2020 and 2021 – including our membership.

We look forward to gathering together in person very soon.
