Multicultural Council and ENWIN Utilities Initiative Promotes\u00a0Personal and Professional Guidance for Inclusive Practices<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

WINDSOR, ONTARIO \u2013 As part of their ongoing mission to create a welcoming community for all through education, community engagement, and the promotion of diversity and equality, the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County introduces Diversity Dynamics presented by ENWIN Utilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn\u2019t think of a better partner for this project,\u201d said Multicultural Council Executive Director Kathleen Thomas, \u201cENWIN has always been a supporter of community programs around Windsor-Essex. Their leadership and staff are dedicated to building cultural competence through education about diversity, equality, and inclusion. These values speak directly to the heart of our work at the Multicultural Council, and we are proud to team up on this initiative.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Based online and released through the social media channels of both organizations, Diversity Dynamics will offer definitions, illustrations, and encouragement, all to assist in the establishment and maintenance of positive practices. Posts can be shared across corporate social media platforms as well as internally with staff at individual organizations, and will address all dimensions of diversity, including race and ethnicity, and also age, gender, belief, orientation, and identity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe grow more culturally competent every day through our partnerships with organizations like the MCC,\u201d observed Helga Reidel, President & CEO ENWIN Utilities Ltd. \u201cWe are delighted that this partnership will help our employees and others in the community to internalize and embrace the ways in which we are stronger through diversity and inclusion.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A new Diversity Dynamics post will be released each week, sharing insight into ways that individuals and businesses can adapt their current practices to demonstrate greater awareness of the diversity of our community and their impact on its residents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal with Diversity Dynamics is to ensure that our community has access to appropriate guiding principles,\u201d affirmed Thomas, \u201cand together with ENWIN Utilities, the MCC have created a program that provides examples of inclusive practices and responsible policies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
