By MCC Executive Director, Kathie Thomas | March 22nd, 2021
The mission of the Multicultural Council has always been to create a welcoming community, and one of our most treasured pursuits is to do so through community engagement. Working for and with residents and partners here in Windsor-Essex, and listening to and learning from their perspectives allows the MCC to truly capture, convey, and celebrate the spirit of our community.
With that same goal in mind — to share stories of community involvement and achievement — we are proud to launch “MCC HARMONY” the Multicultural Council Blog. Regular updates from contributors will provide readers with a more complete picture of the diversity and variety of experiences present in Windsor-Essex.
Take a peek behind the scenes at Carrousel of the Nations with a long-time village volunteer or learn about community leadership from a Harmony Award recipient. Read about what it’s like to arrive in Windsor-Essex as a refugee or immigrant or about how an MCC employment program can change a life. From those benefitting from the work of the MCC to those enjoying long-standing relationships as supporters of our services, “MCC HARMONY” will feature unique and original first-hand accounts.
The MCC is excited to shine a light on the many individuals and initiatives making a difference in our community. We look forward to reading about the experiences of our residents and efforts of our partners.
We hope you will follow “MCC HARMONY” through our social media accounts (@MulticulturalCL) and on our website and join in the conversation as continue our efforts to create a welcoming community for all.
