MCC Health Clinic

Our Nurse Practitioner manages clinics at both MCC locations.

Any client of the Multicultural Council who does not have a family doctor can book an appointment with our Nurse Practitioner. The service is free and you do not have to have an Ontario health card. The Nurse Practitioner can see clients of all ages and all genders.

In Ontario, legislation allows a Nurse Practitioner authority to:

  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses
  • Perform physical check-ups and annual exams
  • Provide health promotion and prevention education to individuals and families
  • Make referrals to family physicians, specialists, and other health care professionals

Oral Health and Wellness Project

The Oral Health and Wellness project provides education and health promotion for newcomers and immigrants of all ages. The project assists individuals and families connect with community resources empowering them to make informed and healthy choices. For more information, contact Anwer Al Edhari aaledhari@themcc.com

The program consists of an education component delivered in multiple languages.

Sessions are structured to accommodate individuals who have never received oral health instruction, as well as those that simply require additional or up-to-date education. Workshops are delivered by trained representatives in various settings, scheduled and coordinated to optimize the learning experience for participants.
