Our Language Services department has opening for free lance Interpreters to assist our clients with translation and interpretation in an accurate, prompt, confidential and professional environment, in accordance with the mission and vision of the MCC.

To become an Interpreter at the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County it is necessary to take a language test (ILSAT) which is offered onsite. The test is oral and the duration is maximum two hours in length. The cost is $200.00 and we accept debit, credit or cash. To receive detailed information about the test a flyer is available at the reception area of the MCC. To schedule a test please call our Language Services Coordinator. If you successfully pass the test, you many apply to enroll in the Interpreter program delivered at St. Clair College.


• Fluency in English and another language
• Must be able to read, write and speak in both languages
• Must be articulate
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A post secondary school education
• Must have a valid Police clearance certificate

Albanian, Cambodian, Cantonese, Czech, Hungarian, Italian, Karen, Korean, Mandarin, Slovak, Somali, Swahili, and Thai
